Personally, I believe that a good morning routine can lead to a very productive and efficient day for anyone, and otherwise, a very bad and unprepared morning routine can actually have a very devastating impact on the whole day. Therefore, today, I would like to talk to you to advise you a little bit about how you can set up your day in the best way possible through a productive morning routine.
The first step to every morning routine, I believe, is to wake up. Essentially, for most people, this is easy. However, when many people wake up, they decide to use their phone as the first thing that they could do in the morning. This is actually very bad because when you start to use your phone right when you wake up, first of all, it is actually very bad for your iPhone, but secondly, it can get you to procrastinate. For example, in the morning, you are having some certain plans, but instead of doing that, you are using social media, you are watching YouTube or Facebook. That's going to lower your productivity, and it is really going to impact on the proclivity of you to do other things in the morning. Therefore, a rule of thumb that I always have for myself, and I wish that you can follow, is that you should spend the first hour of the day without using your phone or your laptop or your iPad. That way, you can get yourself up to do more productive things.
Right after you wake up, many people will have a tendency to fall in bed again and sleep again. This is very bad, unfortunately, and in order to focus, the habit that you can do right after you wake up is to make your bed. Essentially, creating an environment where it is clean, and that you will not fall asleep again. That way, not only can your bed be clean and not messy, but you are also doing a little bit of exercise already, so you can become a bit more energetic. Something that I often do after making my bed is to stretch a little bit. I have heard somewhere that if you stretch in the morning consistently, then you are going to increase your height, even if you have passed purely - I don't know if that's true, but stretching is indeed making you more flexible, so that's a good thing. Another benefit of stretching is that often when I stretch, I feel a bit energetic, actually, because stretching requires you to be a bit uncomfortable. I believe, so it actually makes you feel more awake than if you don't do it.
One thing that I believe is very crucial, and that is very recommended by myself, is to train your eyes a little bit. It doesn't have to be something very difficult or fancy, just look outside and look far away. That way, you can train your eyes, and eventually, over time, because of using too many electronic devices or other reasons, your eyes will be in a better condition.
After that, it is recommended that you should have a skincare routine. A skincare routine can be very simple. It can just consist of some steps, for example, if an oil cleanser, and then use a foam cleanser, and then use a toner, and then a serum, and then finally, moisturizer and sunscreen. It will make sure that your skin stays refreshed and clear the whole day so that you won't face breakouts.
And after that, it is the last time, which is to make breakfast. Many people tend to skip breakfast and eat lunch only because many think that they are not hungry for breakfast, so why should they eat it. However, I believe that this is not a good way to think about eating because in the morning, you also have to do a lot of stuff, especially if you are a student in high school or college, and you go to school and study. If you don't have any food in your tummy in the morning, you will feel very tired, and the stomach will feel very uncomfortable all the time, and that can have a huge impact on your health and your academic performance. That is why I always encourage people to eat breakfast, even if just a little bit, or even if you don't feel like eating breakfast. By doing so, you are preparing yourself with enough strength to do all the things that you need to do in the morning so that things like you can be more efficient, and you can be more productive.
