In many of these posts, I have talked about the importance of studying well, the importance of managing your time, the importance of doing extracurricular activities, etc. However, your life shouldn't just surround all those academic stuff or all of those extracurricular activities, because if you're doing so, then you are missing out on something that I believe is very, very important and should be enhanced and appreciated by every single person on Earth, which is the idea of nutrition. Please always remember that different foods bring different nutrition, and that you need a lot of nutrition in order to function well in life. This is because if you miss out on some certain nutrition, some certain vitamins or minerals, it can actually degrade your health, but a lot, which can really affect your health and also your performance on a lot of things, including academic capabilities, as well as other things like sports and other extracurricular pursuits.
Eating well doesn't only benefit you by getting you a strong body physically, but it is also very important for you to study well, because if you don't eat well, then you wouldn't have enough energy in order to get a lot of work done, which can create devastating impacts with your health, as well as your academic performance. This is why today, I would like to give a little bit of information on the different foods that you should always have in your diet, as well as some recommendations that you can learn from, so that you can become more healthy.
The first part of this is going to be whole grains. Essentially, you should have foods like brown rice, oats, or pasta in your daily diet. I know that these foods can be very boring; however, if you know how to cook them and if you know how to put different ingredients into this food, then the result can be very amazingly tasty. An example is pasta - from just some simple durum wheat, you can add in it a lot of sauce; you can have tomato sauce, you can have pesto sauce, you can have a billion type of sauces that you can put into your pasta, and there are also different shapes of pasta, like spaghetti or penne. You should always check out how much of these whole grains you should eat, because if you eat too much, then it's going to be fat, but also if you eat too little, then it's going to be bad.
The next part of your diet should be proteins. Proteins can come from a lot of places. Let me give you some examples: so you have chicken, and beef, and pork, and eggs, and seafood. And if you are a vegan or vegetarian, they are also different options that include proteins without being animal-based.
The next part, which is very important, is to include vegetables and fruits in your diet. I know that many people don't really like vegetables, but please try to eat some of it, because in vegetables, there are nutrients, there are minerals that can't be collected if you eat proteins alone, if you eat meat alone. To try to incorporate vegetables into your meals. Additionally, eat some fruit, please, because fruit also helps with a lot of nutrients, and plus, it is very tasty. If you don't like to eat the fruit by itself, try to make something tasty out of it, for example, a smoothie bowl, or you can even make some sorbet out of different fruits.
The next part of a good diet is to have dairy goods. Essentially, goods that include milk in it. They're actually many different options that you can take. For example, you have milk - plain milk, or chocolate milk, strawberry milk, it's up to you. And you can also go for cheese, you can also go for yogurt. There are a lot of options that you can take, and a lot of meals that can taste very good as well.
A recommendation that I would like to have for you is to limit fatty foods and foods with high content of sugar. Essentially, prevent sweets and fried food. I know that this food tastes very good and very tasty, but in the long run, it's very bad for you, because for example, if you eat those foods too much, you may get obese, or you may get diabetes, or your skin can really break out. Therefore, try to control your emotions a little bit before considering eating it, and if you really, really want to do it, then please don't eat it very often, because eating it a lot can have devastating impacts on your health.
Finally, but not a tip that I would like to tell you, is to exercise, because if you eat a lot but you don't really burn those calories by exercising, then the fat that you build up in your belly and in other parts of your body, and you can become overweight. Please try to exercise often - as simple as a walk, but you can also buy a gym membership, and you can go there every single day to work out and to lose some calories.
