From 9th grade you shouldn't be really stressed out Yet because it is a very long time away but from this point you can start to make some meaningful decisions that can greatly affect your application first of all try to boost your GPA aim for 4.0 GPA which means that all your classes should have a score of 90 or up additionally consider taking AP or IB curriculum by taking these curriculums you will demonstrate to the admission officer that you are capable of learning difficult stuff in that you will be a good fit for their college especially when it comes to more competitive School 9th grade is also a time for you to start to explore your interest as you know during the time you may be interested in so many things and I recommend you to try all of them by that way you will start to see what interest do you like and what interests do you not like so that you can focus on only some of them in the future
In 10th Grade you should also start to focus on your academics and course rigor. Hey difficult classes for example AP or IB or a levels and start to make connections to build a relationship with your teachers they will be the one who will write your letter of recommendation and if you're able to build a good relationship they will be able to talk nicely a few so that mission officer can understand more about you additionally start to think about what specific extracurricular activities where you want to focus now start to take leadership roles instead of just membership and really dedicate your time to these activities finally start looking for a summer programs as well as planning your summer so that it can be dedicated towards something effective and meaningful for you another thing that you can do if you live close to a college that you are interested in is to take College visit by going there and seeing what the majors are like and what the campus is like you must start to think about what causes may you like and what causes you may not like
Is arguably the most important year of high school try to maintain your GPA as high as possible that's what I was taking the most challenging causes that you find possible at your school next up you must also think of signing up for the SAT or act and if you are an international student like me also sign up for IELTS or other tests that prove your English proficiency this is also the time where you start to really dig deep in your extracurricular activities take on leadership roles make an impact for the community for example host a big event or publish something do anything that is Meaningful for you in the community because that is something that will not only benefit you but it will also show the admission officers that you are able to make good changes in the future additionally start to really narrow down what your interests are and what do you want to pursue in the future What majors do you like what do those Majors offer what courses do you have to learn in order to get a degree in those majors start to figure that out also think about causing where do you want to go for colleges make some college visits or search up the internet for that college to learn more about it really think about signing up for internships or summer programs so that your resume can be more attractive to others
The 12th grade in this grave you should have finished everything from your sat to act and start to ask for recommendation from teacher by that time Common App should have relief The Prompt and also called you should have also released their supplemental questions the summer between 11th and 12th grade can be a great time for you to plan out to write this essays and also to submit them to these colleges when the time comes this way you would have to stressed out in the school year when you have to write a lot of essays while also having to balance out different activities at school and also academic work also think about scholarship see what scholarships are you eligible to apply for and if you want to get those scholarships apply for them and then you will also need to be aware of the deadlines of the application and submit them on time good luck!
