In high school, the workload is going to get much more, plus that the content that we will be exposed to is going to get much more difficult. Because of this, many students have ended up cheating on exams, even though they are very aware of the consequences of this thing, especially if you occasionally cheat. But of course, at the end of the day, cheating is very bad for you, and if you are a person who is planning to cheat on exams, please read this, because I promise you that this will change your mind (hopefully!).
First of all, before you even think about cheating on exams, think about the bad consequences that this practice can bring you. Imagine if you are caught cheating in an exam, especially an important one, and just imagine how would this affect your grade book, how will colleges see you if you are to bring this record to college in the future when you are applying for a college, and even if you actually only have cheated once, well they may not think that you actually cheat once, even though you may actually do it only once. Even in the future, when you are applying for a job, there are some companies that also check your high school record, your attendance, and your well-being at the school; and imagine that they realize that you have been caught cheating. Just imagine that it was just a small mistake that you have made tens of years ago and the impact was going to be so long lasting - please, don't cheat or else the consequences in the future will be dire. I believe that it is more worth it if you just spend a little bit more time preparing for exams instead of resorting to something that may have such a detrimental effect to you in the long run.
On the other hand, think of your own benefits from actually trying to focus on your education and to prepare yourself for exams. Remember, the purpose of exams at the end of the day isn't about the test itself, but rather about how the content you learn can help you in your life. Well, I do agree that grades are very important, but the more important thing that schools and education as a whole want you to be able to achieve is the idea that you will be able to have a strong base knowledge and you will be able to gain skills that will be helpful for you when finding jobs or when you are doing different things when you become an adult. To try to study more is solely for your own benefit, right? You'll get good scores, that's the short run, but it's also about building the knowledge and preparing yourself for later on.
Next, ask yourself before you actually try to cheat on exams: why do you have to cheat on exams, because people, they do stuff for a reason, including cheating on exams. The most common csuse that I believe are making people cheat on exams is that they are not prepared enough for exams and that they are afraid of getting low scores. Well, I do agree with you that low scores can be certainly pretty disappointing, especially for people who want to get into top colleges and who wants to succeed academically. Apart from that, there are people who are scared of exams because of things like that they are not having enough time to study - so that's a factor that they can't control. In dealing with that, instead of trying to cheat ,why not solve these individuals' problems themself, because if they are the problem that are causing you to cheat, when you're able to solve it then I can assure you that you will get a good score (if you check your answers properly). For example, instead of cheating, why not allocate more time towards studying for the exam. Exams are not that common, right? It will only happen about. like, five, six times during the year. So during the other parts of the year, you can play. you can do anything you like; but during the testing week, you must focus on it, essentially - you must put your work and your mind and your heart to studying, because it will not only help your grade, but also help build the knowledge that will be useful in your life. Additionally, if you, for some reason, don't have too much time to study ,you should prepare for exams even earlier on. This way, you will be able to grasp information more effectively instead of just cramming every possible information to your brain, which is certainly not going to be that helpful when doing exams.
