Register for the International Neuroscience Olympiad (INO) now!

Hello you guys, today I would like to talk about a very cool opportunity for those who are interested in learning about neuroscience. Up until now, there haven’t been many competitions when it comes to neuroscience, especially those dedicated to high schoolers. This is why recently, a new competition has been established, called International Neuroscience Olympiad (INO), which welcomes students aged 13-18 to participate in this contest exclusively dedicated to this field. The competition format is the following (copied from the INO website)

  • Due date of registration: 8/29/2024

  • Opens: 8/31/2024 - the "Opens" round is an extensive evaluation designed to assess participants' analytical and critical thinking skills. This round challenges students to delve into research papers, interpret complex scientific data, and generate insightful questions and inquiries, ensuring a broad and in-depth understanding of neuroscience concepts.

  • Semi-finals: 9/7/2024 - participants who meet a predetermined cutoff score, based on overall performance in the Open examinations, will advance to the semifinals. In this stage, the challenge intensifies with free response questions evaluated by qualified researchers, delving deeper into the participants' ability to articulate and apply their understanding of neuroscientific concepts.

  • Finals: 9/14/24 - the top 20 participants will compete for the prestigious gold, silver, and bronze medals in the INO. Additional sponsor prizes, media and research opportunities, and recognition will also be awarded.

In the website, you can check more information about the contest, including mock exams to better prepare yourself for the exams. Note that the registration dues tomorrow and is free, so do join quick!
